The hotel

This chic hotel is reputed to have some of the friendliest staff on the island! It's also located across the road from St. Lawrence Bay where the waters are exceptionally shallow at low tide — enabling you to safely walk miles into the ocean (you might see some turtles along the way!). There’s a lovely restaurant on-site or you can head round the corner to the centre of St. Lawrence Gap for some lively nightlife. Refurbished studio rooms have large balconies offering stunning views, a kitchenette and complimentary WiFi.

This is our second visit to this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are spotless and very well equipped. We enjoyed the pool area. Its very easy to walk to the restaurants and bars and we felt very safe. The front desk staff (Monique and Michelle, in particular) and the housekeeping staff work tirelessly. We felt the bar staff were a little less friendly and we felt an inconvenience asking them for drinks. (They were on their phones or eating a meal at the opposite end of the bar and it often took several minutes to get their attention). We look forward to returning next year. Read less

As you will see from the reviews all is good here. Thanks to all of the staff, we enjoyed our stay. Not a fan of the pubs etc on the strip but plenty of places easily reachable from the hotel. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy. Robin and Claude.

Worth 3 & 1/2 stars really, a great location on St Lawrence Gap with nice beach views. Room was large, functional and clean and the service in reception and the restaurant was very good as was the food options. A great swimming pool area provided another feature.

We have started to stay at the Yellow Bird in the last 3 years. Its a great hotel that offers everything you need. The room has cooking facilities, cooker, microwave, kettle and full size fridge, and coffee maker. The bedroom is tastefully decorated and suited to the beautiful Caribbean ocean front view outside your patio. We have stayed on the upper floor, and this time on the lower floor. My husband prefers the upper floor as he can have a nosey outside. The onsite restaurant is very good, we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinners there. The staff are welcoming, and kind and we see the same staff on our return visits and have made friends. We always receive a warm welcome, and know must of the staff by first name. we would like to thank Sonia for keeping our room so clean and Laurel. Reception staff Dashawn, Monique, Michelle for welcoming us with a beautiful smile. Jamal & Kofi for helping us with our luggage and maintenance in our room. We can't forget Sherelleanne, Lisa, Carolanne, Justin, Sydney, Audley, Peddrina & Tia. The staff make the stay more enjoyable, they are full of advice and recommendations. The hotel is located close to restaurants, bars and beaches. You can walk to must restaurants, bars and beaches. We felt very safe walking to and from bars late at night. We look forward to our return visit soon. Read less
