Stayed here for a tournament at the Convention Center. Easy walking distance to the Center as well as many restaurants and not too far to the French Quarter. Room was fairly large with a desk and additional comfortable chair. The king bed was reasonably comfortable. Enjoyed the toiletries in the good-sized bathroom. Coffee maker had to be moved to the desk in order to be used-probably the only real complaint. Wardrobe instead of a regular closet was a bit small but there was plenty of storage otherwise.

We had a family get together and the St. James was a perfect location. It was convenient to everything, and perfect for parade watching. Every person on the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and accommodating. They really made our stay special. The hotel is an older building that has been repaired and upgraded in fits and starts, so there are some quirks and oddities. We found them charming, but if you're expecting all the fancy amenities of a newer motel, you may be disappointed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I stayed here as part of a timeshare program offer. I paid upfront $259 for 3 nights which is pretty much the same rate as I could book through most travel sites. But the resort advertised a plunge pool - but the front desk laughed at me and said she called it “the fountain pool without fish”! When we checked in we were charged the…

My wife and I stayed here as part of a timeshare program offer. I paid upfront $259 for 3 nights which is pretty much the same rate as I could book through most travel sites. But the resort advertised a plunge pool - but the front desk laughed at me and said she called it “the fountain pool without fish”! When we checked in we were charged the taxes and “fees” which were about what we were given back for sitting through the timeshare presentation. I played “timeshare presentation bingo” but was lectured that this could be “really hurtful to some timeshare sales reps”. Oh geez…your feelings are hurt because I took your offer but didn’t buy what you were selling.” I’m NOT SORRY …but if you’re in sales and can’t accept someone who knows the “the game” playing “the game” then I’m going to play “the game”. The $149 and the 15000 “points” you gave us was nearly as valuable when I shouted “BINGO” when we walked out of the presentation.
