The traffic on the road outside did wake us from around 6am every morning with the noise of air horns on the buses, and general traffic noise. There was no pool bar at the large pool. At the sugar apple cafe we had issues with food taking a long time, and when the food arrived, some came out, some didn’t and some of it wasn’t cooked properly and staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Not sure if they are new staff?! The reception staff were quite rude, and when asked something it seemed a lot of bother. The owner was a nice guy and seemed to be busy tendering to the place. The security was hood and we did feel safe whilst staying here. Read less

Best home away from home … in paradise. Friendly & welcoming team all around. Perfectly equipped with washer & dryer, AC fully fitted kitchen. Just the best place to stay in Barbados. Lots of pools to choose from and convenient beach access steps across the street. Enjoyed every beautiful sunset!

We stayed here as a couple just before Christmas for ten days having booked with Virgin Holidays. We stayed in a two bedroom Villa. The standard of accommodation at the hotel was excellent. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very well equipped with cutlery, toiletries and towels and efficient air conditioning. I'd have no hesitation recommending it. We ate at the small hotel restaurant, the Sugar Apple Cafe on most nights but there were plenty of local restaurant we used during our stay. The hotel restaurant was inconsistent with the food quality and service. However, we loved the service we received from Brianna but all the serving staff tried hard to please. In terms of beaches, we hired a car for eight days and preferred the beach at the local Folkestone Marine Park and Visitors centre. It had better changing facilities and showers and food etc. On one day swimming there we became aware of a rip current and I called out the life guards to a swimmer who was obviously in trouble. The lifeguards were brilliant in the speed at which they carried out the rescue. Apart from that the snorkelling was reasonable on this beach, despite the water being cloudy and the coral being bleached. However, there is an enormous choice of lovely beaches all along the West Coast which could be reached by hire car or local bus. We hired a car from The Hut- Car Hire which was located on the Beach View hotel site and had excellent service from Mike Barnard in selecting a suitable car for us. He was great to deal with. We drove all over the Island. We had an excellent meal at the Roundhouse on the blustery Bathsheba Beach. We also ate at Qp and had a lovely meal. We also visited the very pretty grounds of the Codrington (Theological) College. Whilst the roads had lots of pot holes, it was very easy to drive on the Island and the locals were incredibly courteous and patient in letting us out at junctions. This was unlike anywhere else I've driven in the world. You'll ideally need a car that cope with the potholes! The only unpleasant experience we had in what was otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable time was on our last day, when on checking out of Beach View we examined our bill and discovered that we had been overcharged by $100 US. It took three hours for the bill to be properly corrected. When I expressed my unhappiness at how long it had taken to correct the bill at the reception I was met with an unnecessary torrent of rudeness from one receptionist, who was rightly removed from her post by her supervisor during our heated exchange. Whilst we did receive an apology from the Supervisor, up until this point all the staff had been consistently friendly, professional and helpful. Lots of organisations give an apology for bad service and seem to think that's sufficient but they overlook the damaging and lasting impact an experience such as this can have. This incident was a shame as it was obvious that the owner and his wife worked tirelessly to make us feel welcome, even entertaining us with other guests at his amazing beach-side home. The owner clearly ran the hotel very efficiently and professionally and it was wrong that his valiant efforts could be undermined by one staff member just as we were leaving the hotel. Unfortunately this experience remains our abiding memory of the hotel. Read less

The resort is brilliantly located for restaurants and beaches, staff are friendly and professional and facilities are ideal. Our two bed villa had everything we needed for a comfortable enjoyable holiday. I would happily recommend this resort to anyone visiting this beautiful island.
