Where is it

In South Tampa's SoHo district, a 15-minute walk to Hyde Park Village with its shops. Surrounded by local boutiques, restaurants and bars, and a short walk to Bayshore Boulevard. Transfer time from Tampa International Airport: 15 minutes.

137 rooms and suites, all with air-conditioning, 42" flat screen TV, iPod dock, complimentary WiFi access, tea/coffee making facilities, desk, hairdryer, bathrobes, mini fridge, mini-bar*, safe, iron and ironing board, and bathroom amenities. 

Classic Rooms are 350sq ft and have either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Valet parking $20, plus tax per night (payable locally, subject to change).

I really like this hotel, have stayed twice and will stay again. It's on the smaller side but has all the amenities I'm looking for; nice decor, places to hang in the lobby with my own wine if I want, a nice bar/restaurant, pool, small gym, a roof top bar and a couple of neighborhood restaurants and a coffee shop in walking distance (there is complimentary coffee in the lobby in the mornings). The rooms I've stayed in have been comfortable. Both stays so far, I've been on the front side of the building however road noise hasn't been an issue, just pull down the black out shade to block the sunrise. The beds are comfy and the bathroom has a great over sized shower. Toiletries are a bit minimal however that doesn't bother me. Nice mini bar for a price. No room fridge. Great proximity to Hyde Park and its shops and restaurants as well as Bay Shore Blvd. for a morning run or walk. About a five minute drive for those. The airport and downtown areas about 15 minutes, the beaches more like 40 + minutes. There's on site parking which is valet, not sure of the cost as I don't rent a car. It's across the street from the famed Bern's Steakhouse and there's a package you can book with the hotel to get a reservation at Bern's. They do weddings and business meetings however neither have been a bother for me. There is a tented space on the back side of the building for events with might be an issue for those rooms, something to maybe consider asking about at check in. The Epicurean Hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection is a chic, modern, unique comfortable boutique hotel in sunny South Tampa, close to famous Bern steak restaurants in Tampa. The staff incl. valet was friendly, attentive and professional. At check-in you are also offered a glass of wine which was a nice touch and beats the chocolate cookie of the competition :). Rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. Water pressure is solid. AC works smoothly and quietly. Rooftop bar has gorgeous views over Tampa. Fitness center is well equipped. Overall a very solid stay, although price point is at the higher end of the spectrum of hotels in Tampa. Would return for another stay. Read less

I stayed in this hotel for one night on a reimbursed business trip. I would not spend my own money to stay here. It's upscale and funky, with interesting decor and complimentary wine at check-in. But they don't seem to have the basics quite right. Housekeeping rang my doorbell three times in the morning, beginning at 8:30, as they wanted to make up the room after I left. There was no Do Not Disturb sign to hang on the door. I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout, and the attendant told me there was actually a privacy button near the door. (I never saw it.) What is the use of having a noon checkout if you keep getting interrupted and feel like you're being rushed out? The luxury rainfall shower was so complicated that it required two sets of printed instructions in the bathroom. Meanwhile, water pressure in the bathroom sink was low, and the rooms are not well-insulated. I could hear doors slamming and voices in the hallway despite wearing earplugs. The location was good for walking around to find food and shopping. The adjacent ice cream store had a nice selection. Read less

We have stayed here several times over the years. We came for a one night staycation to enjoy dinner across the street at Berns Steakhouse. We have been going to Berns for over 40 years and as soon as The Epicurean opened it has been our choice to stay with them. The hotel is in the Hyde Park area of Tampa. They hold cooking events and classes in a room off their lobby. They also have win store off the lobby. There is a restaurant and bar on the property has great cocktails. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. When you check in you are offered a glass of wine which is a nice touch. There is a rooftop bar that opens at 5:00 pm that is pretty popular. The hotel has valet only parking for a reasonable price. It's a great choice when you are in the Tampa area. Read less

One of the great joys of travel is finding something special you don’t expect, and the Epicurean Hotel is one of those gems. We love Marriott properties, and this one is delightful. We came to Tampa to have dinner at Bern’s Steak House, and I picked this hotel because it’s across the street. The delights started before we arrived when they upgraded us to a junior suite using a Bonvoy Suite upgrade. I let the hotel know about our special occasion, and they had a bottle of champagne and a plate of hors d’oeuvres waiting in our room. The delights continued with the helpful Tori at check-in, continuing with the beautiful ambiance, and then learning about the artist's reception in the elevator. At the artist reception, we met the manager, Shawn. He hosted an excellent reception with champagne and more hors d’oeuvres, where we met the artist WI Ching Schroeder and the hotel's art coordinator. It was a lovely surprise before our reservation at Bern’s. We are very thankful for a great visit, and I hope you get to visit soon! Read less
