The hotel

Spanning 22-acres of oceanfront, adjacent to Keauhou Bay, this truly special resort offers a perfect location for an authentic Hawaiian experience. Most of the resort overlooks the ocean and feature beautiful colours and prints created by renowned Hawaii designer, Sig Zane. Another highlight is the fantasy pool, set on several different levels and dramatically nestled along the ocean’s lava cliffs — it really is unequalled in all of Hawaii, something we don’t say lightly! Kids will love the 200-foot winding waterslide at the oceanfront lagoon pool.

509 rooms and suites on 7 floors, across 4 buildings. All with private balcony or terrace, air conditioning satellite TV, telephone, WiFi access, mini refrigerator, bottled water, tea/coffee maker, hairdryer, bathrobe, bathroom amenities, iron and ironing board. 

Resort View rooms have either 1 king-size bed, or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

Mountain View rooms feature views of Mauna Loa and tropical resort grounds, with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

Partial Ocean View rooms feature partial views of the Pacific Ocean, and have either 1 king-size bed, or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Ocean View rooms feature breathtaking views of Keauhou Bay and the Pacific Ocean, with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Oceanfront rooms feature captivating views of the Kona coast, as well as the beautiful lawn and gardens, and have either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Partial Ocean View, Ocean View, and Oceanfront rooms can all also be booked as Club rooms, which includes access to Voyager 47 Club Lounge, offering complimentary breakfast, as well as evening drinks and appetizers.

Club Oceanfront Deluxe Suites feature a separate living area with sofa bed, wet bar, and oversized balcony, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 4 people. 


Holua Poolside Bar & Lounge (serving island-inspired cuisine and a range of tropical drinks). Wailele Cafe (casual oceanfront restaurant serving Hawaiian and American cuisine, open for breakfast and dinner daily, with live music Thursday-Saturday evenings.)

My family comes every year around the same time, we pick different resorts & so happened to stumble upon the outrigger. although my overall experience was great. i dealt with a few hiccups during our stay specifically being front desk not being available & having to walk from our room to them just for them to not be as accommodating & helpful as i thought. Me & my family enjoyed the pool area and the stay. they were very respectful while letting us know the slide rules & it really seemed like the staff member Jameson really cared about the safety of the guest. Alesia in the small snack shop next to adult pool was super helpful & awesome she gave us a few manta options we are choosing to save for our next trip back. Read less

Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Property exceptionally clean. Room views are stunning. Great location for sight seeing. Kids say it was their favorite stay during our trip. (Ages 6 and 10). They remembered our names and were extremely welcoming every single day. There is a reason we stay here over anywhere else, got married here and recommend this hotel to EVERYONE! The new rooms are gorgeous. The new game room is a hit for everyone in our family. The Feast and Fire Luau is always incredible. Beautiful place! Ron is amazing, he goes above and beyond. The front desk staff are very hospitable, and helpful! Everyone was awesome! I would highly recommend the big island tour, it was well worth it!! The only change I would ask for is better food options.
