Luckily, four of our five nights were at a group rate. Had we not had that price break we would have stayed home. Tip—book EARLY. The price will not decrease. Otherwise, MM is the perfect place for your NYC stay. We saw five shows in three days and I doubt this would be possible if we’d stayed at another hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful. We will probably buy a Marriott mattress as the bed was the most comfy ever (& we have different standards of comfort!). We did not pay extra to stay in a room overlooking TS, but Room 1207, overlooking 46th Street, gave us a nice view. Our room had a fridge, sleeper-sofa, and a safe. MM credited overcharges that were not applicable to our group rate so give them a chance to make it right if you find mistakes in your bill. This was one of our best trips and best hotels ever! Thanks, MM (and Happy 35th to us!)! Read less

As a frequent business traveler and Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, I have never been treated as poorly as we were treated at this hotel. We booked directly through the Marriott app using my company’s corporate discount code several weeks in advance and received a confirmation email showing the total price with corporate discount applied. However, when we checked in we were told that they would not accept the corporate discount because my wife arrived to check in before I did. When I arrived, they had already changed our reservation to charge us over $500 more than our original confirmation indicated and they refused to honor the original reservation. I have already called Marriott Titanium support and a ticket is being created to address the issue, but I should not have to go through Marriott corporate just to have a confirmed price honored. Corporate travelers beware — this hotel will not honor your reservation. And before someone replies to this review with the scripted “Dear Valued Guest we sincerely apologize….” response, don’t bother because your hotel could have done the right thing for your customer when we were onsite but you refused to. I will also be reporting this property to my company’s corporate travel department to make sure that it is removed from the list of our approved hotels for travel in NYC. Read less

Wonderful stay! Best location and we had a great view of Times Square. Rooms were clean and spacious. The New York Marriott Marquis offers prime positioning in Times Square, but several aspects of the stay left room for improvement. The 49-story hotel features soundproof rooms with city views and the signature Marriott bedding, providing comfortable accommodations. The front desk staff demonstrated professional service, though the floor security personnel displayed the brusque attitude often associated with New York City. A major drawback is the hotel's inadequate gym facility, which is surprisingly small for a property of this scale and desperately needs additional equipment to serve its high volume of guests. The mandatory $229 credit hold system feels restrictive and unnecessary, limiting guests' financial flexibility during their stay. The pricing structure for basic amenities is particularly problematic. The hotel's food and beverage costs are excessive – four coffees totaled $44, an unreasonable markup even by Manhattan standards. This pricing strategy forces many guests to seek refreshments elsewhere, despite the convenience of in-house options. While the location remains ideal for Broadway shows and Times Square attractions, the combination of restrictive credit policies, undersized fitness facilities, and inflated food prices makes it difficult to fully endorse the property. Consider this hotel if location is your primary concern, but be prepared for additional costs and some infrastructure limitations. Read less

16 minutes ago on Google On October 31, we booked a night here for 12/27 for an executive suite (1 room with king bed with separate living area with sleep sofa for our daughter and her friend). We called a couple times on 12/26 and 12/27 to confirm the reservation and also requested early check-in. We arrived at 1PM and while they weren't able to fulfill the early check-in request, they said our room would be available at 4PM, which was fine. Unfortunately, when we checked in, we got all the way up to our room only to discover that the room was 1 king bed with a sleeper sofa in the same room, which was not the experience we paid for. We requested a room change to reflect our original booking and they were completely sold out. We then had to call 2 times for sheets for our sleeper sofa and I have spent the last hour trying to negotiate a reasonable settlement. We have gotten different information about the difference in the cost of the room we have received vs. the room we booked. We were originally told it was a $200 difference, then that it was $300 difference. They are willing to reimburse us $500, but we are seeing rates online that show an $800 difference between the rooms for tomorrow night. Overall, a very frustrating experience and not the way I wanted to spend the one night my husband and I had away from our younger three children or celebrating our daughter's 13th birthday! Book your reservation elsewhere. Not worth the cost of childcare for our younger children or the train tickets we got for our one night NYC. Read less
