Rene, Rita, and Nsimba are some of the sweetest people ever. They made our stay so warm and welcoming. Thank you guys! As for the actual hotel, very nice, spacious, and clean. Hope to come back soon! This was the easiest snowboarding trip I have been on.

The hotel was nice. The ski valet was amazing - Rene, Rita, and nsimba were so helpful with the ski equipment and really made us feel welcome and taken care of. It is also conveniently located next to the gondola so it’s easy to get on the slopes from here.

I’ve been visiting the Westin Monache for over 15 years each winter, and it’s truly become my second home. Over the years, I’ve developed lasting relationships with many of the staff, so when there were several changes in recent years, I was understandably concerned. However, I’m happy to say that the new team has been fantastic. In particular, Carolina, the new Front Office Manager, stands out. She’s clearly dedicated to fostering a high level of customer service, and it shows in every interaction. She’s done an excellent job of leading her team, ensuring that guests feel well cared for. A great example of this is the significant improvements in the Ski Valet area. Rita has implemented several thoughtful changes that have made a noticeable difference in guest satisfaction and the overall flow of the service. It’s these kinds of updates that keep me coming back year after year. Through all the transitions, one constant has been Leisha, the General Manager, who has always been a reliable and welcoming presence. Her leadership has undoubtedly contributed to the Westin Monache’s continued excellence. In my opinion, the Westin Monache remains the best hotel in Mammoth—consistently providing exceptional service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to my next stay! Read less

Sofa bed was not comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware, no cooking oil or spices provided. Hotel was packed for the New Years holiday, even so, service was expedited at the restaurant and front desk. Room service food was ok and delivered fast. Bonvoy Titanium level gives you free breakfast for 2 per day from a limited - but OK - menu. Ski valet service was great! We were always kindly greeted by Rita along with Nsimba and Rene. Gear was delivered superfast and always a delight to see them at the end of a long ski day. Read less

Tired hotel with tiny rooms and dated decor. This hotel is not luxury for a luxury price over 1000.00 a night midweek? Our room. We had a one bedroom suite. More like a one bedroom sardine can. This was barely large enough for the 3 of us. Storage was ridiculous and the lockouts and half closets were a joke. You had to finagle with the doors to get a rolling suitcase through. Even the hooks for our jackets were too low to the floor. The sofa bed was usable only if you were crazy enough to rearrange the room and trip over everything else. On second thought we should have just done a larger studio or two queen beds. The bathroom. What can you do with such a bad layout. I have had more space at a Best Western or Ramada. Two doors for a tiny bathroom. Just why? Nowhere to put anything away. No thought whatsoever. The windows were not great either. You could hear a draft all night which kept me up. The weather sealing to the balcony door was broken and you had to fight with the door to close it. The hotel is loud and not very well soundproofed. You can hear every conversation in the halls. The TV Netflix internet too slow and kept timing out every time we logged in to start a movie. Honestly, we should have stayed at the Mammoth Inn for less. The maid service. Well, The room was never vacuumed and there were pistachio shells from a previous occupant under the bed. How gross. The kitchen had food splashed up under the cabinets and would have served better purpose just to put in a wet bar. Why could no one do a proper cleaning? Hairs left in the tub and sink on our arrival. The room was so badly laid out. Check in the first valet was so rude. He told us no room for cars. The second man was lovely and apologized profusely. Our room wasn't ready until late afternoon which was fine. The pool and spa were tired and cold. Hardly a relaxing trip. Three of us and just two pool towels in room. None at the pool. Elevators were always a pain and way over serviced. This definitely did not live up to Westin Standards. Sure convenience of the ski valet was nice. The stair walk back to the hotel was brutal. Especially in boots and treacherous and icy. I get it but again it lacked modern conveniences. I was just expecting so much more of this being a resort quality hotel. The public spaces were lacking. No fireplaces or places to gather in the hotel. The gym was sad and hotel lacked a sauna or at least clear directions to one. The hotel told us we had an upgrade. Sure we got exactly what we booked, High floor one bedroom suite. I told them this and they said oh we upgraded you for one night. Hmm. Really. Hard to get in at Whitebark restaurant even if you book weeks before. I would never recommend this hotel. I certainly hope the management doesn't reply and say how unfortunate this is. They should know better and strive better. I am glad we only booked three nights. I would have absolutely been horrified to stay any longer. Read less
