Do be mindful that if your room is on the side of the main lobby that they do most of the night entertainment there and if you are not a night owl you will have FOMO as the walls are not soundproof and the entertainment sounds fun! Food was ok. grounds and buildings were top notch clean. entertainment was great!!! Two thumbs up. overall the beauty of this resort and the people made it a great experience. people to note, From entertainment: Daesha, Vanilla and the Neville Devil :) very fun people, kind, and accomodating!! Memorable! From the blue team! Blue shirts Johnice! We saw her every evening and she always approached us with a big smile and asked about our day, and asked us to join night entertainment. she was a wonderful personality to see each evening Tiki bar: Remy.. was like that guy from cheers who always knew your name and had the greatest smile. Front desk.. Rochelle.. AMAZING.. one of the first people we met upon arrival.. brought us a mango champaing and it was tasty. We saw her often and she always knew our names and was so informative. On the last night I brought to her attention that the bill slipped under our door said Mr and Mrs.. and we are a female couple. In the morning we had a new envelope under our door with our names properly on it. She took the time.. she is a role model for any other worker in her position. small gestures go a long way. JAYDA- young lady in the photo dept. She has a smile that can light up a beach! We had a lot of fun chatting with her and posing for our pics! Overalll a spectactular group of staff and we will return! Thank you -Reynolds Read less

St Lucia is the typical Caribbean island getaway. Sandals Grande is a beautiful resort situationed on a sliver of land between the Caribbean and the Atlantic While the weather is consistently good, I am not sure I would travel to St. Lucia again. The traffic and road conditions are some of the worst I have experienced. When it take 90 minutes to travel 27 miles over pot-holed, narrow and winding roads something is wrong. Sandals Grande, as I mentioned is a beautiful and well maintained resort but I believe has some significant issues. Before I get into the issues, I want to commend a couple of individuals who excelled in their position and displayed outstanding customer service. Fay, who was our beverage person at the small pool called the Party Pool, was an exceptional customer service focused employee. Always had a smile on her face and almost knew our needs even before we asked. She was one of the few employees who embodied customer service in a manner that I expected given the reputation of Sandals. The second person of note was a room housekeeper who was assigned to room 4103 from 2/2 to 2/9. She did a great job and if we needed something to make our stay more comfortable, she got it immediately. I hope both of these employees get the recognition they deserve. The issues at the resort are are noted below. While some readers will probably view these items are trivial, it is the small details you except from a 5 star resort. * At check in they only handed out 1 room key while it was my wife and myself. We returned to the front desk and got a second key * We came to find out the Sandals front desk staff was terrible. If they were trained, the training did not work. They were curt, short with customers, they were not empathetic and viewed a request as a burden and not an ability to WOW the customer. I experienced the same issues with the individuals prior to the trip who wanted no part of my questions about the resort but rather transferred the request. Nobody seems to " own the request"1 *There was no advance notice in the promotional information that we would need a power regulator for my sleep machine. While they had 110 volt plug outlets in the room they were on the other side of the room out of reach for the machine. i called the front desk and it took a couple of hours to get the voltage regulator. * I thought it was odd the room did not have a television channel card in the room. * There were no pens or larger tablets of paper in the room to write on or with. * An issue that I thought was intolerable was the need to wake up as early as 5:30a.m. to 6:00 a.m. to set out towels on the pool chaise lounge and save the chairs at the pool we used. Every day we had chairs at the pool, that were reserved for the entire morning and nobody used them until early afternoon. I thought it was compete insanity that anybody can reserve the pool chairs for more than 2 hours before they come to use them. Sandals need to figure out a better way to make the use of the pool equipment form equitable. * I ended up spending 3 full days in the room sick. When I first called Room Service for lunch, I was told I needed to upgrade either Butler or Premium class to get Room Service. I wasn't going to spend the considerable money to upgrade but was willing to pay something for a few room service meals since I was sick. I guess Sandals wanted me to go the restaurants sneezing, coughing, etc. and were okay with me spreading my illness. Totally classless! All that said, I believe the Sandals Grande has some significant issues with their customer service at the front desk and check in process. I doubt I will return to this location. I have been to other 5 star resorts and my expectations given the price I paid and Sandals reputation, were far less than a 5 star rating. Read less

Very disappointed with Sandals Grande St Lucia. I booked on phone with their rep as we required a walk in shower due to recent surgery and wanted to make sure it was booked. I also indicated it was our 50th anniversary and I knew it was impossible to get reservations for the most popular restaurants ( which is a big problem at all Sandals. When you arrive on Saturday you are lucky if you can get a reservation for the most popular restaurant, and if so, it is the very end of the week. But on top of that there are always many empty tables as people probably book but don’t show up but they still don’t allow walk ins ) and the rep said he would book Gordons for us. When we arrived Saturday they said they needed to verify my Amex credit card. I told them I did not use Amex. She said you have to provide the Amex card or pay $ 5,500 in cash. Back and forth as she would not listen until finally realize she was checking us in under wrong name. Didn’t bother apologizing for her arrogance. We then go to our room and no walk in shower which was mandatory. They said they would see what they could do tomorrow. I asked for manager, explained walk in shower was necessity, the poor check in experience and that this was our 50 th anniversary. We evidentially got to different room after wasting 2 hours with the credit card and shower issues. Next day went to check on restaurants and no reservation was made for Gordons and only available all week was late on Thursday. Monday we were scheduled for the repeat visitors dinner. When we got back to our room late afternoon there were no towels. Took over an hour to get them and we missed the repeat visitors dinner. Tuesday we come back to our room and AC stopped working and temp was 80 degrees. They sent someone but could not fix and said they would see about a different room in the morning. I told them not acceptable and they offered to bring some fans. Again, not acceptable and eventually they found another room. So we had to repack and move everything. There was a supervisor and manager there and I explained the bad experiences to date and that it was our 50 th anniversary and she repeated several times “ you get settled and we will talk in the morning”. No one ever contacted us or ever acknowledged our anniversary even though it was communicated to several managers. Thursday we had dinner at Gordons, which is their premiere restaurant and it was horrendous. Steak was fatty and tough. My wife’s crab cake was terrible. We left and had a burger at the pub. I would never go back. Read less

We loved our week at Sandals Grande! The staff was so friendly and courteous! Everyone we passed, no matter their role, said hello and asked how our day was going. The calm bay surrounded by mountains was very picturesque. We stayed in one of the swim up rooms, though we ended up not using that pool as much as we thought we would because we opted to spend so much time at the beach. Our favorite restaurants were Barefoot by the Sea (shout out to Amanda and Brittany for their awesome service) and Gordon’s. Like most Sandals, there’s a bit of a fight for the beach chairs in the shade, but we never had a problem getting a chair that we could relocate to a shady spot if needed. We opted to sit further away from the main bars, but there were plenty of beach attendants asking if we needed anything from the bar. It was the most relaxing vacation and we can’t wait to come back. Pro tip - take the helicopter instead of the regular transfer. It’s well worth the price. You get to avoid the crazy streets and get to the hotel much faster, and it’s also a beautiful experience. Second pro tip- upon arrival at the airport, there are people trying to move your bag a few feet to the sandals desk. These are not sandals employees and will ask for/demand compensation for moving your bag 6 feet. If they aren’t wearing a Sandals shirt, don’t give them your bag. Read less

While all of the service was top notch, the following folks get a special mention for going above and beyond: Tanielle - from the weddings team. Who was so thoughtful and made our returning guest dinner so much fun! Marcus - Dive instructor extraordinaire and superb teller of jokes! Ruben - the best hibachi chef we’ve ever had! Nicholas - our phenomenal waiter at Gordon’s! Terrell - Watersports manager and just a wonderful human! …and Denzel, who gave us a tremendous orientation!
