Step by Step guide to booking a reward seat

Step 1: Enter your destination and select your dates (option – select ‘within 5 weeks’ for more availability) then check ‘pay with miles’. If you’re looking for a specific cabin, click on the ‘Show advanced options’ link and you’ll be able to choose whether you want to search for Economy, Premium or Upper Class.

Step 2: Hit ‘find my flights’

Step 3: Then choose the best dates. The results will only show your trip for the number of days you selected, so if you want to change this just go to the ‘Refine search’ link in the red bar at the top of the page and reselect the number of nights you want to stay for. If you’ve not selected a specific cabin, we’ll always show you the lowest available mileage for that date in the 5 week view. If you’ve searched for a return flight, the mileage and taxes shown is the total for the whole return journey.

Step 4: Once you’ve picked your dates, we’ll show you all the available times and cabins you can choose.

Step 5: If you haven’t logged in at this point, no worries. We’ll prompt you to log in so that you can pay with your miles.

A few hints and tips

Find more availability: Select the 1 or 5 week view when you're doing a flight search.

Let us know you're part of the Club: Log into your account before searching your flight – it’ll make your flight search quicker.

Work out where your miles can take you: Take a look at our reward flights table for the list of all the mileage you need right here.

Think seasons: Our reward flights are seasonal, so if you can travel out of peak times, you might find a fabulous deal. You can find out all the dates on our Reward Flight mileage table.

Expand your horizons: You can now also use your miles on some Delta routes, so there will be lots more availability for routes like LHR – JFK.

Take a different route: Direct isn’t always the way to discovery. Try connecting via a different route and you could strike gold. If you want to go to San Francisco, try Los Angeles. Or Miami instead of Orlando. JFK instead of Newark. Remember our partner airlines can fly you to many of our destinations too. Off to Oz? Alright. You can fly with Virgin Atlantic to Los Angeles and connect with Virgin Australia.

Be flexible: You can search for one way and return reward seats. And if the exact dates you’re after are booked up, we’ll show you everything available around that time.
